Asisat Oshoala got 54 minutes in this season’s opener for FC Barcelona in the 9-1 routing of CD Tacón at the Blaugranes new home ground, the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
Oshoala was named in the starting XI, but the forward who recently returned from international duty with Nigeria where she scored, uncharacteristically failed to find the back of the net on Saturday.

With six minutes before the hour mark, the Nigeria international was substituted, Barcelona leading 4-0.
But the gloss on that emphatic performance would come from her replacement, Jenni Hermoso, who came off the bench to net a hat-trick.
On Sunday though, the Nigerian tweeted her excitement over the winning start: First league game yesterday in our new home ground…..3 points

Last season, Oshoala scored seven goals in as many league appearances for Culés, but they missed out on the title to Atletico de Madrid.
