England Manager Gareth Southgate could be set to break Nigerian hearts by handing highly rated striker Tammy Abraham his first competitive game as an England international.
Southgate snubbed the Chelsea forward in favor of more established players, but has recent hinted outsiders like Abraham will get a look in, and it could be sooner than expected.
The Three Lions Boss was fielding questions about the commitment of the current players in the team as England prepares for a double EURO 2022 qualifiers.
‘There can’t be a session where, at any point, any of the players switch off otherwise we can bring others in,’ said Southgate on the eve of England’s game against Bulgaria.
‘If at any point we think we’re getting carried away with where we are then that would be dangerous. I think at the moment, we’ve got lots of really close calls next summer.’
