D’Tigers have no business playing basketball world cup classification – Voight

Former D’Tigers coach and current Angola national basketball team coach William Voigt has described Nigeria men basketball national team as the most talented African side at the world cup and believes Nigeria should have been in contention for the competition proper and not playing the second round world cup classification.

Voigt speaking in a chat with brila.net said the Nigerian side looks good and should have actually progressed out of the group.
He also noted that the classification fight can go either ways even though he still feels Nigeria have the edge above others.
“I’m personally surprised Nigeria didn’t get out of the group, I mean that’s probably the most talented team from the continent that ever competed at the world cup.”
Nigeria’s D’Tigers overcame Cote d’ivoire 83-66 to record her second win of the world cup and start it classification match on a winning note while Angola lost 62 – 71 to Iran Friday morning.
