Azubuike Okechukwu’s full debut for Basaksehir in a competitive match ended in a defeat as the Turkish Super Lig side were dumped out of this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.
Basaksehir were outplayed 2-0 by Olympiakos Piraeus in Turkey to complete perfect two wins from two matches; having won the first leg in Greece 1-0.
The Nigeria midfielder, who had come off the bench in the first-leg, got all 90 minutes on Tuesday.
A first-half yellow card was the only blight to Okechukwu’s game in the second-leg match, but nothing he did could change what was destined to happen.
The defeat ended Basaksehir’s hopes of European football this season.
