AAG 2019: Positions below first, second and third will not be accepted, says Yakmut

Former Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and Team Nigeria’s Chef de Mission Al-Hassan Yakmut, has declared that the federation will not accept any positions short of first, second and third at the forthcoming All African Games in Morocco.

Yakmut made this known after the stakeholders meeting with participating Presidents and secretaries of sports Federations in Nigeria at the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Thursday.

Brila can report that, the former National Sports council director stressed that the target for this year’s African games for team Nigeria will not fall short of the first, second and third position.

”If anything falls short of the said target given, that means our preparation is in doubt and will be questioned,’ he said.

”As a matter of fact, I will be moving all camps alongside the permanent Secretary to ensure all is set and all the athletes are properly in shape for the competition.

“Right now, I will be traveling to Kaduna to foresee the National trials of the Athletics Federation taking place by Friday and Saturday because it’s a strong hole that we can’t ignore. ” Yakmut concluded.
