Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmo has called on a focus to develop the league  in Nigeria and the quality of play for a better national team where home based players will be allowed opportunity to compete in order to create the right mix of home based professional and their foreign based counterpart.
Shorunmo speaking in a chat with www.brila.net on the way forward for a better Super Eagles in the future following the team’s Third place finish at the just concluded AFCON in Egypt said at times all that is needed by the coaching crew is knowing when to take professional risk like the Super Eagles team that conquered back in 2013.
“We need to work more on our league, if our league is still the same the way we have been running before, things would have been better. When the foreign base CE to the camp, they believe they will just stroll into the camp and pick up jerseys.
But of there is a competition for them fr home, they will know they need to fight for jerseys right from preparation. And again risk taking is involved because if you don’t take risk, you might not get what you’re looking for.”
