Coach of Nigeria’s senior national team Gernot Rohr has praised Madagascar for a deserved win after handing the Super Eagles of Nigeria a rude awakening in Sunday’s 2-0 victory in the battle for group supremacy which went the way of the 108th ranked football nation in the world.Â
Rohr speaking after the defeat in a chat gathered by www.brila.net said the Super Eagles lacked real desire to fight after having secured qualification to the next round prior to the final group game against Madagascar, unlike the AFCON debutant who showed real desire and determination to win from the onset.
“Madagascar deserved to win this match, they were the better team. We have the ball and even better possession of the ball but it was not really good football by us and we missed the fighting spirit because when a team is already qualified, in the mind  they play to win but they don’t have the desire and the fighting spirit.”
