Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong is doubtful for Nigeria’s second Group B clash with Guinea on Wednesday.
The Udinese of Italy defender sustained the injury in Super Eagles‘2019 Africa Cup of Nations opener against the Swallows of Burundi last Saturday.
The head coach of the team Gernot Rohr revealed that the former Tottenham Hotspur academy star hasn’t recovered from the knock.
“Williams Ekong is injured. He had a knock in the match against Burundi on Saturday.
“He did not participate in the team’s training on Monday. He had special medical treatment and I am not sure if he can play on Wednesday.“
“But we still have some sessions to decide. We hope other ones who are recuperating will be ready for the match”.
A win for Super Eagles against Guinea will see them book their place in the round of 16 of the competition.
