Agubum Christie and Audu Blessing won silver in the Women’s Tennis Doubles event at the African Beach Games, coming second in the Pool behind Morocco’s Benabdeljalli Camilla and Benabdeljalli Sarah.
The Nigerian team, captained by Veteran Abdulmummin Babalola won two and lost one of their matches in the Pool of four to clinch second.
After a 2-0 defeat to Morocco on Day 1 of the event, Agubum and Audu bounced back picking a 2-1 win over Cape Verde and a straight sets win over Algeria, who finished bottom of the Pool.
The Tennis team joins the Rowers who picked up three medals, including two Bronze in the Men and Women singles event and a Mixed Doubles Silver.
Nigeria’s handball team lost the third place playoff game to Morocco.
