LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko has reiterated that aligning the League’s calendar with the European football leagues will improve the chances of players in the domestic league getting Super Eagles call ups.
Dikko insists their are ‘good players’ in the NPFL and can get national team invitation based on merit.
‘I don’t like to talk about home based and foreign based, We have only one Super Eagles and anybody who is good enough to play will get his time,’ the LMC Boss told brila.net.
‘At the last world cup Ahmed Musa and Etebo (Oghenekaro) they are products of the league.
‘In fact Etebo was barely few months in Europe and you couldn’t say that was the reason behind his performance; but because he is a very good player from the league and there are many like him.
‘So if we’re able to align our calendar – in the league with European leagues – it will give our NPFL players the best possibilities to be part of the team.’
