Having gone against the odds to bag a 2-1 win against Wikki on the same day they lost their head coach, Solomon Ogbeide, Lobi Stars player, Solomon Kwambe has described the current league season as very hectic.
Speaking with brila.net, Kwambe said the entire team has gone very spiritual as they hope to bag a playoff spot while acknowledging the very high level of competition in the league this season.
“It has been God all this while. God has been faithful to is. I think we had a fantastic season both in the continent and in the domestic league. We are praying to God to give us the grace to end on a better note.
I think the NPFL 2019 season is a tough one. It has been a hectic one for the players and the management of the teams. Coupled with traveling and playing midweek and weekends, it hasn’t been easy and it has been telling on us, the players.
I thank God that I have at least experienced this for the first time and at the end of it I would have a story to tell but it hasn’t been easy for us.”
Lobi inched closer to a playoff spot with a 2-1 win over Wikki Tourists as Austin Ogunye 49’ and Sikiru Alimi 81 got the goals.
