Odion Ighalo improves his Goal scoring Tally, nears Watford record

Odion Ighalo has made it 6 goals in 6 league appearances for Shanghai Shenhua with his latest coming in a 1-1 result away to Wuhan Zall on Sunday.

Ighalo’s right-footed strike from inside the box was enough to help his side earn a valuable away point.

The draw saw Shanghai Shenhua climb to the ninth spot on the table with seven points from six games.

Ighalo who joined Shanghai Shenhua before the beginning of the 2018/19 season is also the top scorer in the Chinese Super League, one more than four other players.

His goals have come consecutively in the last five league appearances after firing blank in his first game of the season.

So far he has scored in every game since the last five matches for the club including a brace in the 5-1 mauling of Beijing Renhe earlier in the month.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria international could equal a personal goalscoring record of scoring in six consecutive top flight matches which he set back in the 2015-16 season at Watford, if he nets against Tianjin Tianhai, next weekend.

Since completing his move to China from the Premier League in January 2017, the former Watford striker has scored 42 goals in 61 appearances combined for Changchun Yatai and Shanghai Shenhua.
