Coach of NNL side Kogi United FC Tunde Abdulrahman has expressed his joy after his team’s bright start to the new NNL season emerging as match day 1 biggest winner following the team’s 5-0 thrashing of visiting Yarmalight of Gombe yesterday at the Confluence city stadium in Lokoja.
Abdulrahman said in a telephone chat with www.brila.net that the team had to ensure a fast start to a very short season knowing how quick things must be achieved because of the nature of the season.
“I thank God for the big win, it’s our first game and my boys put everything together to win 5-0.
We have only four matches to play in two legs making eight matches in total, so you see it is very important we work very hard quickly to see that we achieve our aim of ensuring we qualify to compete for promotion”.
Kogi United last season missed out on qualification to the NPFL at the Super 8 playoffs and would hope to go beyond that this season.
