Christian Wade will have a shot at the American dream after he was signed by the Buffalo Bills NFL side six months after sensationally quitting rugby.
Wade, 27, lost his love for rugby and left in October 2018 in order to pursue a new career in American Football.
Quitting Rugby and starting afresh in America Football in less than 5months was a daring move something Wade owes to self-belief he said “It was all about believing in myself and my ability. I stepped out of rugby 100% confident I could make it.”
Despite the confidence the switch has been challenging and tough, “There has been a huge mental challenge. It’s like learning a new language. I’ve only scratched the surface of what is required.”
While he will not play in fully-fledged NFL matches, Wade could feature in pre-season at running back as part of a 91-strong Bills squad for the coming year, something he is satisfied with for a start.
