Super Falcons defender Josephine Chukwunonye has highlighted the positives for the Nigeria women national team despite the team’s 2-1 defeat to Canada women national team to end their training tour of Spain yesterday.
Chukwunonye speaking in a telephone chat with www.brila.net said the game against Canada has given the Super Falcons the morale and believe to play against other strong teams considering Canada’s ranking as the 5th best nation in world women ranking.
“For us, it gives us morale to play and Canada they actually felt the impact of the game too. They haven’t conceded any goal since they have started playing friendly games this year, so I think scoring against them is a good one for us even despite the loss but we showed an improved performance.”
She concluded that scoring against the Canadian ladies who have kept a clean sheet so far in their last six world cup build up games is strong enough indication of an improved Falcons side.
