Manchester City have returned to the top of the Premier League by comfortably beating strugglers Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Premier League returned with a bang as Bernardo Silva scored after just five minutes at west London.
Sergio Aguero doubled the scoring in the first half with a neat lobbed effort over Sergio Rico.
Fulham were the makers of their own downfall and in the 27th minute they were trailing by two when Joe Bryan inexplicably conceded possession and the ever-cool Sergio Aguero lifted the ball over Sergio Rico for his 29th goal of the season.
After the restart, Kyle Walker struck the post, but with the points in the bag and some key matches to come at the business end of the season, City were reluctant to exert too much effort to build to their lead.
It would have been concerning then that Aguero was forced off with a slight knock and City will be hoping the Argentine is fit for their home league match against Cardiff on Wednesday evening.
The defeat leaves Fulham second from bottom, 13 points from safety, and they could be relegated as early as next weekend.
