NFF VP Akinwumi affirms belief in Eagles handler Rohr

NFF First Vice President Barrister Seyi Akinwumi has backed current Eagles handler Gernot Rohr to banish the days of Nigeria’s slumber as they get set to feature in this year’s 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

Akinwumi speaking in a chat with www.brila.net, and ahead of the Eagles dead rubber AFCON qualifier against Seychelles as well as the international friendly four days later against Egypt says he has express confidence in the ability of Rohr to rewrite the narratives about Nigeria’s Super Eagles as far as playing and competing at this year’s AFCON is concerned.

“I feel strongly that we will do well…I have a very good feeling about this team, this present national team”. he started.

“I also strongly feel that we as a country, I mean the Super Eagles, will do well especially with the coach that we currently have, Gernot Rohr, he is an intelligent and experienced coach who understands the game”.

Nigeria have already qualified for the 2019 Afcon scheduled for Egypt in June after finishing and start preparation with a clash against the Pharaohs four days after they take on minnows Seychelles.
