Akwa United’s Jamiu Alimi completes loan move to El Kanemi

Nigeria International, Alimi Jamiu has joined Elkanemi Warriors of Maiduguri from Akwa United on a season-long loan.

The former Shooting Stars Defender joined the Maiduguri based team after falling out of favour with Akwa United manager Rafael Everton.

Speaking after the move was made official, the Defender revealed that he left the Promise Keepers because of lack of playing time.

“I needed to have enough playing time and I wouldn’t have that at Akwa United. This is the right place for me to move to and hopefully, when I get back to Akwa United, I can have a place in the team”. He said.

Alimi has played for CHAN Eagles and was part of the NPFL all-star team in 2016.
