Nigeria will shock the world at the 2019 open championship – Chukwumerije

Technical Director of the Taekwondo Federation of Nigeria(TFN) Chika Chukwumerije has declared that Nigeria would surprise the world when the 2019 world open championship is hosted in the country.
Speaking with brila.net, the Olympic bronze medalist noted that Nigerian taekwondoists would take advantage of the opportunity and do well when the championship flags off.
“I think Nigerian taekwondoists are ready for the challenge. They’ve been ready for the past 31 years and the first time we are having the world taekwondo event in Nigeria, they are ready to compete with the rest of the world”, said Chukwumerije.
He also singled out Elizabeth Iheanacho(Female), Ifeoluwa Ajayi(male 53kg) and Commonwealth youth champion Shola Olowokere (male 58kg) as few taekwondoists to watch out for at the championship.
According to Chukwumerije 16 countries registered for the 2019 world open championship holding in Abuja but states that he is unsure if Gabon will make the event even after registering.
