U20 AFCON: South Africa hold Flying Eagles to a goalless draw in Kountche

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday played a goalless draw against the resolute ‘Amajita’ of South Africa in the Matchday two of the ongoing U20 AFCON going on in the Niger Republic.

The Flying Eagles were in control for most of the first half, however they were unable to trouble Amajita shot-stopper Khulekani Kubheka.

In the second half, Senong’s charges showed a bit more adventure and manage to a few passes together following the introduction of Promise Mkhma at halftime.

The Paul Aigbogun side took control for the rest of the second half in search of a winning goal that would secure their spot in the knockout round.

Unfortunately, that was the trend for the rest of the half as Nigeria move to four points while South Africa sit on two points.

Amajita will face Burundi in their final Group A clash on Friday evening.
