Former national team player Yisa Sofoluwe has charged coaches handling age grade national football teams in Nigeria to be more concerned about grooming players into a complete model rather than winning at the expense of the real essence of the true development expected at that level.
Sofoluwe speaking in a chat with www.brila.net ahead of Nigeria’s participation at the fast approaching U20 AFCON as well as the U17 AFCON which comes after the U20 that development should be paramount in the mind of the coaches so that proper transition will be achieved and players would have been better groomed as well.
Meanwhile, LMC players advisor and former CAF champions league winner Victor Ezeji has urged Nigerian club sides featuring in any of the CAF inter-club competition to consider rotating their squad as they begin their domestic campaign later today on matchday 4 of the NPFL.
Ezeji in a chat with www.brila.net pointed out the stress of playing in the Nigerian league with poor logistic concern and the effects it will have on a team when that is combined with playing on the continent.
He added that it will surely be a blessing initially at the beginning of the league due to the match fitness of the teams having been active on the continental stage but that the logistic concern becomes obvious and worrisome when the league gets deeper into the season.
