In spite of the attacks on Match Referees in the three-week-old NPFL season, the arbiter’s regulatory body, NRA, will make Referees available for the next round of games according to publicity secretary Kelechi Mejuobi.
In a chat withbrila.net, Mejuobi says a far-reaching decision may be considered, but nothing drastic in the short term. The NRA maintains it remains resolute on ensuring the growth of Nigerian football but insists the safety of its members at any match venue is crucial.
The latest incident of violence against Referees happened in the Remo Stars vs Bendel Insurance Matchday 3 fixture in Abeokuta.
