Samuel Kalu will likely miss the next Bordeaux’s Ligue 1 encounter vs Gijon after he has failed to report back on time from international duty with Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
Kalu played two games for the Super Eagles in the last international break of the year and was instrumental in the Super Eagles’ clash vs South Africa on Saturday.
“We have no news (on Kalu), he should have been there this (Thursday) morning. It’s a delayed return of to the team,” Bordeaux manager Eric Bedouet said last night.
The team are preparing ahead of their game at Dijon in the Ligue Un on Saturday but may have to prosecute the game without Kalu and their Guinean forward François Kamano who has also failed to return as scheduled.
Kalu has scored one goal in his ten league appearances at his new club this season and will be required to lift them from their current 11th spot on the league table.
Bordeaux are currently without a win in their last five league matches.
