N’Golo Kante is set to become one of the highest paid players in the Premier League, with Chelsea looking to seal a new deal for the Frenchman.
L’Equipe report that the player remains in talks over a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with an agreement believed to be close.
Chelsea have been in contract talks with Kante for some time now following interest from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.
The Ligue 1 heavyweights are still believed to be interested in signing the World Cup winner, but Chelsea hopes that a new deal will ward off any interest for the time being.
Previous reports have suggested that any new deal would take the player to a figure worth around £300,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.
Securing the player’s long-term future with a new deal will come as a major boost to Chelsea, despite the player’s far less influential role in the side under Maurizio Sarri this season.
