Bafana Bafana star Thulani Serero set to return for Eagles clash

South African Football Association are considering the possibility of bringing back midfielder Thulani Serero for November’s 2019 AFCON qualifier with Nigeria next month.

Serero was banned from playing for Bafana Bafana back in February following his decision to shun invitation into the team if he’s not guaranteed a place in the starting eleven.

The Vitesse of Holland player was overlooked in the last three the Staut Baxter side have played, Including the tie against Cape Verde and against Burkina Faso.

While reacting to his situation In the National team, Serero told Dutch media report in November 2017, he’s uncomfortable sitting on the bench.

“If the national team wants me, then I must play. As the situation is now I don’t want to go.”

But to sources close to South Africans FA revealed, the national association is trying to amend the relationship he can feature against the Super Eagles.

“There has been contact. SAFA are keen to bring back Serero to Bafana Bafana,” says a source.

“He could be included in the squad to be announced by Stuart Baxter for the game against Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr has already named his Super Eagles squad to face Bafana Bafana, with Captain John Obi Mikel and his assistant Eddy Onazi missing from the list.

Nigeria will travel to South Africa to keep a with the  November 17 as both giants of African Football fight for Group E top spot.
