Sunshine Stars defeated Enugu Rangers 2-0 in a rescheduled NPFL matchday 14 home game, marking a winning start for newly appointed Technical Adviser, Austin Eguavoen, who also called for caution on early expectations of ‘anything major’.
Second half goals from Ajibola Otegbeye (58′ PK) and Alaba Adeniyi (77′) moved the Akure based club three points adrift of the relegation battle.
Speaking after the match, Eguavoen said his team showed good organisation despite the quality of their opponents.

The former Super Eagles Coach however appealed to the “passionate” home fans to show more patience and support, particularly when a game is deadlocked.
