Nigeria Super Falconets on Monday afternoon lost 1-0 to Germany in their first Group game at the U20 Women World Cup going on in France.
A second-half goal from Stefanie Sanders earned Germany a 1-0 victory over the Falconets in their Group D U20 Women’s World Cup encounter at the Stade de Marville in Saint-Malo.
The physical German side tossed the ball around in the early exchanges and attacked with intent.
The Falconets, were, however, very composed at the back with Chidinma Okeke marshaling the defense line and almost leveled matters in the 72nd minute. Efih’s right-footed drive agonizingly hit the woodwork.
