Wilfred Ndidi “Surprised” Iheanacho scored with the Head in Pre-season win

Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his amazement with Leicester and Nigerian teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho’s ability to score with the head.

Kelechi netted twice against Lille OSC in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, helping the Foxes fight from a goal down to win 2-1.

The first of Iheanacho’s brace on the night was a scintillating header, aided by the upright to bring Leicester level.

He scored in the second half, connecting a low cross field pass to tap in and notch up his fourth goal in three pre-season matches.

Speaking after the game, Ndidi said he was surprised his international teammate got a goal with the head.

‘I was even surprised he scored with his head, because just Yesterday we – just Me and him – were practising and playing with the head.

Ndidi also praised his teammate’s goalscoring prowess and hopes it spurs the team on into the new season, when they get their campaign under way vs Manchester United.

‘He’s getting there; because we work every day in training. The previous games also he was good and scored goals that brings the confidence and I hope it continues; not just him but all the players,’ said Ndidi.
