Super Eagles defender Echiejile returns to French Club AS Monaco

Super Eagles’ left-back, Elderson Echiejile has returned to French club AS Monaco after a successful six months loan spell at Dutch side Cercle Brugge.

The former Braga defender joined AS Monaco in January 2014 and had a successful time with the team until a change in backroom staff forced the club to loan him out.

Echiejile

Elderson has since being loaned out to Standard Liege, Sporting Gijon, Sivasspor, and most recently Cercle Brugge in the past 3 seasons.

In a chat with brila.net, Elderson said he is currently training at the club to keep fit as he decides on where he will lace his boots in the coming season.

’I’m currently with the lads here in monaco, we started training today’

‘Though the team is on tour in Germany, we have like 12 of us training here’ Echiejile concluded.

Having tested football in Portugal, France, Turkey and Holland, it’s still not clear if the 30-year-old will want to remain in mainstream Europe or fancy a move to the Far East.
