Liverpool have dropped a major hint that Nabil Fekir will not be joining the club as Sadio Mane has changed numbers from 19 to 10.
The Senegal international has swapped his previous number 19 – which he chose when joining from Southampton two years ago – for the 10 shirt.
It is yet another hint from Liverpool that their attempts to sign Fekir from Lyon are over, after Jurgen Klopp suggested their summer business is complete following Alisson’s arrival.
A Liverpool statement read: “The Senegal international has switched from his previous number, 19, which he has worn since joining the club from Southampton in 2016, ahead of the new campaign.
“Mane now takes up the No.10 jersey vacated by Philippe Coutinho upon his move to FC Barcelona in January, which has also been worn by John Barnes, Joe Cole, Luis Garcia, Michael Owen and Andriy Voronin during the Premier League era.”
