It will take a lot to stop Enyimba from fighting for another continental silverware because the People’s Elephant are fired up after Wednesday’s win against Williamsville AC in their CAF Confederation Cup group C match up.
Williamsville AC, were runner-up in the Ivorian top flight last season and are debuting in the CAF Confederation Cup.
They looked like the surprise package and were coasting until the Port Harcourt appointment with Enyimba.
A lone strike off the right foot of Enyimba forward Ibrahim Mustapha condemned the visitors to their first defeat in the competition.
Buoyed by the performance of his teammates after a month’s break from competitive football, midfielder Austin Oladapo told Brila.net that the team is no motivated to go all the way.
‘Firstly, we must give all glory back to God for the result. It is not easy to play and win a competitive game after a long break like we had. So, with this believe the team is motivated to go out and win.’
Enyimba climbed to the top of the group with two wins from three games and have the chance to improve that outcome in the second-leg at the Stade Robert Champroux, Abidjan on July 29.
