Nigeria to Send 26-man Contingent to CYG 2017

Nigeria will send a small contingent of 26 Athletes to the Youth Commonwealth Games set to get underway in Bahamas on July 19.

Bahamas will host the sixth edition of the games where it is expected that 1000 athletes will compete in 9 sports including Athletics, Boxing and Tennis, where Nigeria hopes to dominate.

 

In a chat with brila.net General Secretary of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Tunde Popoola expects a tough contest in the games and maintains that Nigeria must prepare well.

 

The NOC scribe also hinted that Team Nigeria could camp for a six-week period.

 

The figure brila.net learnt was a delibrate decision and not borne out of any dire circumstance.

 

Popoola is part of an inspection team led by Minister of Sport Solomon Dalung.
