Brazilian footballer Fred has completed his £52million move to Manchester United as confirmed by his former Shakhtar Donetsk boss Mircea Lucescu.
The Brazil international was given time off from his country’s World Cup preparations to have his medical at Carrington on Monday.
Fred’s camp is completing the paperwork for the deal and the transfer should be announced imminently.
Lucescu said: “I’m really pleased Fred has completed his transfer to Manchester United. I am proud of him, as reported by Mirror.
“When I signed him at Shakhtar, Taison and Bernard were playing in his position.
“I transformed his position, giving him a more defensive role.”
Brazil National team Manager TITE on Monday confirmed that the player was given some time off to solve his club future as it was the adopted method of the National team.
“When this happens, and it is inevitable, they are going to come to us and our advice to them is resolve this as soon as you can so your head is back with us and focusing on the national team. Tite stated.
