Setting a new team record at the World Cup in Russia should be the biggest motivation for the Super Eagles according to team coordinator and former Nigeria International, Patrick Pascal.
Nigeria will make a sixth appearance in the tournament; during the world cup in Russia, but no Super Eagles team has managed to progress beyond the round of 16, and situation Pascal is optimistic this side upset.
The former midfielder, who earned four full caps for Nigeria, told Brila.net that the players must consider representing the Country at the mundial a “privilege” and should set high standards for themselves.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles have been in camp for three weeks preparing for the tournament and will play an international friendly against England’s Three Lions on Saturday.
Subsequently, the team will proceed to Austria for the second phase of camping where they will play against Czech Republic before the tournament proper.
