Vincent Enyeama’s return to the Super Eagles may prove counterproductive according to former Nigeria international, Edema Fuludu.
Enyeama, who quit international football in 2015 under acrimonious circumstances, following a spat with then Coach, Sunday Oliseh, has divided public opinion after appeals for the 34-year-old to come out of retirement.
The calls have since gathered momentum and is further fueled , among other things, by the appointment of Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr.
The German coach has brought some serenity to the locker room since coming on board and is also gradually guiding the three-time African Champions back to prominence, with Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme as first choice goalkeeper.
Despite his fine run with the team, Ikeme’s frequent injuries has however, strengthened suggestions that Enyeama, who has 101 international caps, should be recalled to the Eagles.
In his reaction to the debate, Fuludu insists dealing with the former goalkeeper’s temperament under a new clime will prove daunting and counterproductive to the progress made so far by Rohr.
