CAF Confederations Cup ties won’t affect our domestic run – MFM boss Ilechukwu

MFM FC Manager, Fidelis Ilechukwu has expressed his confidence that his team’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup will not affect their NPFL run.

Speaking to brila.net after Saturday’s win, Ilechukwu stated that he is confident that the team will build on the win and ensure the CAF Competition doesn’t affect the domestic run.

The Manager, however, disclosed that his team is lacking in depth after the Olukoya boys recorded a superb comeback victory over Kastina United over the weekend.

Ilechukwu stated that prosecuting matches on the continent as well as in the league hasn’t been as easy as he had envisaged because of the lack of enough squad depth in his side which means they would have to manage and make do with what they have to try to still get a result.

Ilechukwu said following his side’s 2-1 win against Katsina United yesterday that MFM will keep pushing hard to ensure that their league standing is not affected by their continental sojourn as he hopes his side will strike a balance playing in both competitions.
