John Obuh sacked by Kwara United after torrid run of results

Nigeria Professional Football League Club, Kwara United have confirmed that they have parted ways with Former National team coach John Obuh.

Obuh failed to secure a win following the three-match ultimatum handed over to him, on Monday, March 12, 2018, he turned in his resignation letter to the management of Kwara United FC of Ilorin.

The Kwara State-owned Club have been struggling since the return of Obuh to the team and this manifested in the poor results which has left the team at the rock bottom of the NPFL table with 11 points from 12 matches.

Kwara United also issued a statement confirming that the club has reached an agreement to terminate Obuh’s contract citing un-impressive performance in the top-flight league.

“Kwara United and John Obuh have come to an agreement to terminate his contract as the assistant coach of the club with effect from 12 March 2018.

“Both parties have signed a separation agreement, the terms of which are confidential. The club thanks John for his contribution and wish him well (in) his future endeavours,” Kwara stated.

According to reports from Ilorin, former Niger Tornadoes coach Abubakar Bala is due to take over the team this week, as Obuh said he was quitting because the results were not forthcoming.
