Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side are expected to park the bus when Liverpool visit Old Trafford on Saturday, according to Dejan Lovren.
The last three fixtures between the two sides – since Mourinho was appointed the manager in summer 2016 – have been hotly anticipated, but from kick-off to the final whistle, were tirelessly dull affairs.
There have been two stalemates with a 1-1 draw in between, with the low scoring games largely down to Mourinho’s tactical approach.
He has been unwilling to attack Jurgen Klopp’s side, knowing full well Liverpool will be able to cut through United’s poor defense with ease if they are not protected.
To prevent this, United have approached games against Liverpool with a defensive mindset, with Mourinho forcing his team to ‘park the bus’.
And Dejan Lovren, the Liverpool star, does not expect any different tomorrow.
Speaking to The Times, Lovren said: “Maybe they are not in the best shape, but still they win ugly.
“What matters is the points. Last time, when they came here, they defend really deep so let’s see what happens now.
“[Will they do that again?] I think so.
They need the points, definitely.
For them it will be maybe a good point but, for us, we never play for a point.
We will play like we play every day, attacking football Let’s enjoy.
