NWF President Igali celebrates Beat The Street Invitational

After conquering the continent at the just concluded African Wrestling Championship, “a select group” Nigeria female wrestlers have been invited to the Beat The Street in New York City.

President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali tweeted the news on Thursday.

I can confirm that on invitation from USA Wrestling, a select group of Nigerian female wrestlers will participate at the Beat The Street Event in New York City in May, 2018.

Although the names of the wrestlers wasn’t listed, the Federation is likely to name a strong contingent, to include the likes of Odunayo Adekuoroye and Blessing Oburududu for the invitational.

The Beat The Streets is a unique wrestling program to promote the sport among urban youths in New York and it also features other events.

In 2017, Team USA, which included members of the 2016 Olympic team as well as other elite stars competed against a selected team from Japanese.
