Super Falcons Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby has hailed the efforts of his ladies in the opening game of the ongoing WAFU tournament.

Dennerby stated that the victory is good for the team’s confidence having stayed apart for a longer period of time.

In a chat with brila.net after the encounter in Abidjan, the Swedish-born tactician expressed his delight in seeing the ladies put up a good display in the game against Mali.

“The victory is good for the confidence of the team,” Dennerby stated.

He also hailed the efforts of the ladies, saying they ‘ve done a very good job,” The Coach added.

Mali, who stepped in after Benin withdrew, arrived in Abidjan on Wednesday evening, less than 24 hours to the match.

The two met last in the group stage of the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) where Nigeria strolled to a 6–0 win over Mali.
