Former National Sports Commission (NSC) head of physiotherapy, Dr. Dipo Odunuga has commended Ex-International, Sunday Oliseh for his patriotic attitude after playing with Malaria during his days in the National team.
Speaking on Brila FM’s Big Sports Breakfast show, Dr. Odunuga said it was an act of dedication from the former Super Eagles Skipper, and that others could emulate the former Borussia Dortmund player’s patriotism.
The Veteran Physiotherapist, however, said that the patriotic attitude of the former Super Eagles Captain is not the best as regards his health, I think he was ill-advised but his intentions were positive.
“It was a patriotic attitude from Oliseh, but I think he was ill-advised,’ Dr. Odunuga stated.
Sunday Oliseh had declared himself fit and was introduced as a second-half substitute having gone down to Malaria before the game against Senegal.
In the game, Teenage sensation Julius Aghahowa scored a dramatic double as Nigeria grabbed a late equalizer before overcoming the obstacle of Senegal, the surprise team of the African Nations Cup, 2-1 in extra time to set up a semi-final clash with South Africa.
