D’Tigress Lands Tough FIBA World Cup Draw

The last time Nigeria made an appearance in the FIBA Women World Cup Australia won their first and only World Cup title – till date – 12 years and three editions later D’Tigress will return to the global stage.

On Tuesday, FIBA concluded the draw for the 2018 Women’s World Cup; the 18th edition of the Sport’s biggest showpiece in this category and Nigeria have been drawn in group B against Australia, Turkey and Argentina.

D’Tigress conquered Africa last year in the AfroBasket Championship and Sam Vincent’s team will have an even bigger task in Spain.

The competition tips off on 22 September but in any case Nigeria will be the underdogs ranked 34th against Australia (4th), Turkey (7th) and Argentina (15th) – and lowest ranked team at the World Cup.
