Anthony Okpotu believes he has answered his critics with his first goal of the CHAN 2018 in the 3-1 win against Equatorial Guinea and is focused now more than ever to keep scoring.
After two games without registering a goal, Okpotu, who finished the NPFL top scorer last season, found his scoring boots – head – on Tuesday.
Okpotu further contributed to Nigeria’s third goal after he won a late penalty, which Rabiu Ali converted.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s quarter-final against Angola, the striker said,”The quarter-final is like every other quarter-final game. It is like every other game we’ve played.
“We’ll train, do or best and come on Sunday we’ll go out there to play with the believe that we’re going to win.
“Everybody has been expecting me to score and finally I have scored; there’s no big deal.
“Scoring is my job and I’m here because of the goals I scored, I’m good.”
