Iheanacho Tipped For Newcastle, West Ham

Leicester City attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been tipped to join either Newcastle United or West Ham United this month, as speculations reach feverish point over his career prospects.

Though Iheanacho recently hit two goals for The Foxes in the English FA Cup, observers believe his scored card of three goals overall against lowly teams belies the heroics he had during his days with Manchester City, such that pundits are now touting him for a January transfer deal at either Newcastle or West Ham to keep his career in flight.

This comes amidst reports that Leicester are ready to let Iheanacho leave – even if it means making a loss on the £25m rated striker.

Aside West Ham and Newcastle, Stoke City and Swansea City were all chasing Iheanacho in the summer, but are unlikely to want to pay his wages.

Man City also have a buyback clause in the deal, which allows them to get first refusal on the player for a fee of £50million.

A well-placed source said: “The problem is Kelechi is earning around £115,000-a-week (N48million) on a five-year deal and no club will currently want to take him on those wages.

“So Leicester might have to let him go for a lot cheaper than they paid for him if they decide to sell now.”
