Football is my Life, I have no retirement plans – Coach Onigbinde

Former Coach of the Super Eagles, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde has described football as his life and he will not think of stepping aside from the sport as long as he lives.

In an exclusive interview on Brila FM, Chief Onigbinde told Anthony Bekederemo about the dynamic nature of the game of Football and how he’s not planning retirement even as he moves closer to 80 years.

The Modakeke-born Chief said he is grateful to God for Life and the strength as he is still standing and jumping at 79, Chief Onigbinde will turn an Octogenarian on 5th March 2018.

The 79-year-old Tactician, however, is unimpressed by the model of managing the game of Football in Nigeria, citing examples which he suggested while in the capacity of a Board Member of the then NFA.

“Do we have a model or a structure in running Football here in Nigeria? Maybe you as a Media person should have it, then show it to me” Baba Onigbinde told Bekederemo.

Chief Onigbinde Lauded the efforts of the Franco-German tactician, Rohr on his work done so far with the Super Eagles.

“Rohr has a better luck than me, I have just 3 months to prepare the team for a World Cup 16 years ago”, but Rohr has been with the team for some years now, and he is doing well”, the former Coach stated.

Chief Festus ‘Adegboye’ Onigbinde is a Nigerian football manager. He coached Nigeria national team at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Co-hosted by Korea and Japan.
