Former Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu has advised the current Eagles Number one goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa to show Nigerians his ability.
The former goalkeeper trainer of the Super Eagles, Shorunmu said in a chat with brila FM that it’s almost too late to start looking for a new goalkeeper for the Super Eagles.
“I think there is an opportunity for Ikechukwu Ezenwa to show Nigerians that he deserves his place as the Super Eagles first choice ahead of the FIFA World Cup to be held in Russia later this year,” Shorunmu stated.
“Already, Ezenwa has already known the team, and has built a communication bridge with the defense led by Leon Balogun, all he needs to do now is prove to Nigerians that he is capable.
The former Besiktas of Turkey goalkeeper also advised that the Enyimba shot-stopper should ensure he is at the top of his game as the CAF organized tournament, CHAN kicks off in Morocco later in the month.
Ezenwa is the Captain of the Home-based Eagles team to participate in the CHAN Tournament to kick off in Morocco.
The Home-based Eagles team will play in Group C along with Rwanda, former champions Libya and Equatorial Guinea.
