Ex Nigeria and FC Barcelona winger Emmanuel Amuneke says it will be almost impossible for any single Real Madrid player to stop Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid host the first El Clasico in La Liga this season, but they’ll be facing a highly motivated Barcelona side; who are also unbeaten this season, according to Amuneke.

The former Blaugrana man spoke during a telephone interview with Babafemi Raji on the Brila FM show Football Live.

He said, ‘Lionel Messi is a great footballer and he has a very high football IQ, may be even the most intelligent in the game.

‘He’s unselfish and plays for the team. It’ll be almost impossible to stop him.

‘Real Madrid will have to play their best defensive game as a team; defend as a unit, to stop Messi from impacting the game,’ Amuneke explained.
