Fidelis Ilechukwu Brings the Fire with MFM

Who’s already threatened by the fire blazing Mountain come regular NPFL season?

Fidelis Ilechukwu may come off as boisterous; getting under the skin of his contemporary with his pre-match mind games, but he’s always right on the money.

If there’s any reason to go double or nothing on the Olukoya Boys to make huge strides this season it is all becasue of the Manager.

Going on his third season in the top flight MFM FC look very much at home and the stability around theclub would be an envy for traditionals like Rangers.

Playing against Pillars inside the Sani Abacha Stadium on Friday, Ilechukwu’s team reduced the home team to size in the NPFL Invitational 2017.

They gave Pillars little room to breathe in their own backyard, and took an early lead on the 3rd minute but would also concede twelve minutes later.

It was the second game of the group following a 1-1 result against Akwa United. And though they dropped points to settle for a draw against Pillars, on goal difference MFM advanced to the final of the pre-season tourney.

Ilechukwu will lead his team to their first ever continental appearance during the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League when they face AS Real Bamako.

Until then he’d be crafting out a master plan for the Super 6 final on Sunday against Salisu Yusuf and the CHAN Eagles.
