Nigeria EX-International and Hapoel Ashkelon of Israel Goalkeeper, Bamidele Aiyenugba has expressed his delight in Hapoel’s draw with Maccabi Haifa over the weekend in the Isreali league.
The former Bnei Yehuda Shotstopper spoke in an exclusive interview with brila.net’s Chidozie Okoroji aftermath of the weekend’s draw away at Maccabi Haifa.
“I’m very happy we are able to pick up a point at Maccabi, and I believe we will bounce back to winning ways,” Aiyenugba told brila.net.
Aiyenugba’s Hapoel Ashkelon currently lies on the 11th position on the log of 14 teams.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper also expressed his satisfaction with the current Super Eagles squad and the state of things with the team right now.
“I think the team has got it right now, everything is working perfectly, the guys in the team are ready to fight and win”
“I can say this team is the real Super Eagles, and the Coach has also improved the team, they are doing great right now,” Aiyenugba said.
The former Enyimba International Goalkeeper suggests that early preparation and playing more quality friendly games will be key to the Eagles’ success in Russia.
Aiyenugba, however, says he remains hopeful of getting a recall back into the Super Eagles team, as he is always ready to represent his fatherland if given the opportunity.
The goalkeeper has a total of 17 caps for the Nigeria National team having made his debut in 2005.
