Super Eagles goalkeeper coach, Alloy Agu has said he is fervently hoping for a hugely favourable draw for the side at the 2018 Fifa World Cup draw ceremony on Friday.
The draw for the 2018 Fifa World Cup holds on Friday, December 01 at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Russia among the 32 participating teams.
Alloy Agu said he favours God’s choice but quickly added that the Eagles will be primed to face any opposition at the World Cup in Russia.
“I want a favourable World Cup draw on Friday in Moscow, Russia that’s what we are fervently praying for.
“We hope and sincerely pray that God will favour us while we move fast on our own part by working very hard towards a successful outing in Russia.
“We just hope that God will perfectly design it for us, whatever God proffered for us must be the best and we must face it squarely.
“However, it makes no sense to opt or offer to avoid certain countries once you want to be the best.
“Its common sense that those countries you wish to avoid at the preliminary round you are sure to meet in the next round or knockout stage.
“We are not afraid of any country we have what it takes to confront any opposition at the World Cup.
“We just hope that God will have a hand in who become our opponents while we do the needful by preparing adequately for the task ahead,” said the former Nigerian shot-stopper to supersport
Nigeria has been seeded in Pot 4 (the lowest-ranked teams) together with Serbia, Australia, Japan, Morocco, Panama, South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
Alloy Agu, however, allayed the fear that the goalkeeping area is the banana peel for the side going to the World Cup.
“We must know exactly where we started, where we are and where we are going at the moment.
“Carl Ikeme stabilised the goalkeeping area before he suddenly took ill which we have continually been praying for his speedy recovery.
